Technical support
A support contract is available to help you use DB-MAIN, to implement professional plugins and to exploit the results.
It includes one year email support (or phone support if necessary).
REVER makes the commitment to:
- Acknowledge receipt of the demand of the User within 24 hours (working days only) as from the announcement made by the User.
- Make its best effort to resolve any bug or problem identified within a maximal period of 5 working days following the announcement to REVER about the existence of the problem.
- In the case that the abnormality could not be resolved within 5 working days, supply an initial correction or work around while continuing to make its best efforts to produce a permanent correction of the problem.
Professional plugins
The professional plugins offer advanced specific functions that can be added to DB-MAIN. Here is the list of plugins currently available:
- The Oracle generator addresses a number of specific aspects of the Oracle DBMS. The user has several options for the representation of constraints (primary identifier, foreign key, etc).
- The DB2 generator addresses a number of specific aspects of the DB2 DBMS (IBM). The user has several options for the representation of constraints (primary identifier, foreign key, etc).
- The COBOL generator translate a DB-MAIN data schema into COBOL files (Environment and Data sections).
- The CODASYL generator translate a DB-MAIN data schema into a CODASYL program (schema and sub-schemas). There are two versions of this generator: a CODASYL generator and an IDS/II generator.
- The XML generator translate a DB-MAIN data schema into an XML DTD file.
- The COBOL extractor extracts the file and record structures (FILE SECTION and FILE-CONTROL), and COPYBOOK of COBOL source files into a DB-MAIN data schema.
- The CODASYL extractor extracts the schemas and sub-schemas structures of IDS II and IDMS source files into a DB-MAIN data schema.
- The IMS extractor extracts the structures of IMS source files (DBD) into a DB-MAIN data schema.
- The XML extractor extracts the structures of XML DTD files into a DB-MAIN data schema.
Customized development
REVER may also be responsible for developing custom Java plugins specific customer requirements (such as a generator of data structures in a proprietary language).
The plugins and their source codes will be transferred to the customer upon completion of their achievement. They are the exclusive property of the customer.
Training
There are two types of training available:
- « User » training
- Objective: learn to use and exploit the main features of DB-MAIN.
- Prerequisite: basic concept of database and modeling.
- « Developer » training
- Objective: learn to develop its own Java plugins in DB-MAIN.
- Prerequisite: basic concept of database and modeling, knowledge of Java.
The courses are taught via internet (no tools or installation is needed on your computer).
Depending on your needs and technical level of participants, they will be scheduled on one or several half days.
